JDEStatus
JDEStatus is a tool that allows you to monitor the JDE OneWorld UBE
(Universal Batch Engine) queues. It accesses the queue information
directly, and does not use the JDEdwards toolset, which means that it will
always be reporting current information, even when JDEdwards server
services are shut down.
This tool was developed to address specific issues we found when
helping clients to tune and support their queue structure in JDEdwards, it
is currently being used by clients running JDEdwards OneWorld on
UNIX/Oracle and AS400/DB400.
A number of sites have JDEStatus running on a dedicated screen, where
it gives the support personnel the ability to identify issues with
JDEdwards queues at a glance. During the setup phase of JDEdwards it
may also allow you to more readily identify and resolve any queue
bottlenecks, and the appropriate distribution of jobs.
Clicking on a queue name will bring up a list of all the jobs currently
waiting on that queue.
For job names you don't recognise there is the added feature that
clicking on the job will display the name stored in JDEdwards.
Therefore removing the need to go looking for the description using the
JDEdwards toolset.
Among the many other features of this useful product are
:-
-
logging to a file
-
customisable queue list, include or exclude any queues
you wish
-
warning threshold - a warning notice will pop up if
the number of jobs in a queue exceeds this level
